The TF North Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) team has adopted the American School Counselor Association's (ASCA) model as our approach to our school counseling program. The ASCA National Standards were inspired by professionals in the counseling field and based on significant research.

A comprehensive school counseling program allows a school to serve students better. Feedback from teachers, parents, and students helps counselors more effectively target specific needs. This data-driven approach, coupled with established standards, then, help create a supportive, all-inclusive environment for the students. ASCA groups the National Standards into the following three domains:

To support ASCA standards, the PPS team will provide events and activities pertaining to each domain for every grade level throughout the semester. The calendar below will  provide details of our upcoming offerings. The definitions will explain the acronyms in the calendar.

ISAC - Illinois Student Assistance Commission:  A representative visits TF North twice a week to assist students with any aspect of the college application process, including financial aid, personal statements, letters of recommendation, and more.

ETS - Educational Talent Search:  A representative visits TF North twice a week to assist students with any aspect of the college application process, including financial aid, personal statements, fee waivers, and more.
